LJP supports ENPO demand for separate statehood

Dimapur, September 14 (MExN): The Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) Nagaland on Wednesday stated that it supports the Eastern Nagaland Peoples’ Organisation (ENPO) on its demand for a separate state.

“Ever since, Nagaland had attended Statehood in the year 1963, 1st December, the Eastern Nagas has been duly neglected in various development fields and the people of the area are yet to see the light of the day in this fast changing modern civilized world,” the party stated in a press release issued by General Secretary and Spokesman Alvin Solo.

According to the release, as many as 20 MLAs in Nagaland have also reportedly vowed not to contest State Assembly Elections which will be held on March 2023 until the demand is met. Stating that the area has been “deliberately deprived,” it said the LJP (Ram Vilas) Nagaland strongly support the strong affirmation of the Eastern Naga politicians and MLAs, tribal bodies and other organizations from Eastern Nagaland for resolving not to take part in any election until their demand for a separate state of ‘Frontier Nagaland’ was met.

It further expressed hope that the hopes and aspirations of the Eastern Naga people would be restored and their demand fulfilled at the earliest possible time.
