LKM deliberates on various issues

Dimapur, February 27 (MExN): The Langpangkong Range Students’ Conference (LKM) held an Executive cum consultative meeting with seniors, at Asangma village on February 26, where several issues pertaining to the forthcoming 30th LKM General Conference cum Tournament to be hosted by the Asangma village and other important issues relating to Langpangkong Range as a whole were discussed.
A press note received here today issued by its president Moatemsu Imsong and general secretary Toshitemjen stated that as per the resolution adopted in the meeting, the LKM extended its appreciation to the Government for extending the National Highway 61 road from Amguri gate to Tzüsangra (Tuli) to Two Lane road. At the same time urged the department to complete the ongoing project with proper workmanship at the stipulated time and guidelines given by the government.
It stated that the LKM expressed its apprehension for the late tender-call for repairing of National Highway 61 road from Tuli to Merangkong village, which is in pathetic condition. Therefore, the LKM strongly urged the department in concern and the government to expedite to process and commence necessary repairing works without further delay.
Concerning rehabilitation of “the defunct Tuli Paper Mill, the LKM after thorough deliberation once again made an earnest appeal to the Government of Nagaland as well as the Management of HPC Ltd. to put a renewed effort for the approval of the new DPR and the process for the revival of NPPC Ltd. For the benefit of the Nagas”, it added.
The meeting has resolved to appoint a committee for Lt. Pangersowa Award Trust and also resolved to work hand in hand with the Asangma village council, Planning Committee and the Asangma Students’ Union for the successful celebration of the forthcoming LKM General Conference cum Tournament.
The house also extended its deepest appreciation to Sentitola D/o Lt. N. Imsujungba of Chuchuyimlang village for the remarkable achievement of passing through the UPSC examination and getting an honorable job of Indian Forest Service (IFS). The LKM wises her success in her new future and new assignment, the note said.
