LMRPO calls for unity among Nagas

Wokha, October 6 (MExN): Calling upon Prime Minister Narendra Modi to conclude the protracted Naga political issue at the earliest, the Lotha Middle Range Public Organisation (LMRPO) on Wednesday appealed the Naga people to “find a common goal for the Naga political solution.”

In a press release issued on Wednesday, the organisation’s president Ntonsi Yanthan and general secretary Abemo Lapon acknowledged that many lives have been sacrificed for the cause of the Naga nation. Acknowledging the supreme sacrifice made by the Naga political groups since the beginning of the movement, it also appealed to them to “forget and forgive the past mistakes and to come together as one with more trust and confidence on one another, to give concerted effort in giving a push to the Naga political issue in the interest of the Nagas.”

“At this moment, our Naga national political leaders and tribal, civil society organization need to set and practice ‘Tone at the top’ by reflecting on each one's personal conduct, commitment to integrity and ethics,” it underscored.

It also said that the organisation, in its 6th consultative meeting at Sanis Town on September 30, unanimously resolved and passed a resolution to support the Indo-Naga political issue for an early solution.

Further emphasizing that Nagas are at a very critical juncture at the threshold of entering a new era, it also asserted that, “the choice before the Nagas is to talk to each other to a position that realistically constitutes our non-negotiable position for an inclusive, honourable and acceptable solution based on the unique history and situation of the Nagas.”
