Loan Mela for tea farmers

MOKOKCHUNG, FEB 22 (DIPR): A loan Mela on Agricultural Advance for small Tea farmers sponsored by the State Bank of India (SBI) Chare branch was held at Lead Bank Office Mokokchung on February 21. Deputy Commissioner Mokokchung, Imkongtemsu Ao graced the programme as the Chief Guest. 

Addressing the gathering, the Deputy Commissioner said it was a beginning of a new chapter for the farmers in Nagaland but that the success of the programme depends upon the timely repayment of loans. While appreciating the efforts made by the Bank to benefit the farmers, he exhorted the farmers to build a solid foundation for the future generation to take up such venture as an avenue for self- employment. 

Earlier in the programme, the Branch Manager, SBI Mokokchung Branch delivered the welcome speech. Chief Manager (CSC) SBI, Regional Office Dimapur, S.H.Leo and President, Tea Farmers Association Nagaland, Sungkum Jamir also spoke on the occasion. Branch Manager SBI Chare Branch proposed the vote of thanks. The Deputy Commissioner also handed over Loan sanction letters to one hundred and one (101) Tea Farmers.
