‘Local Food Show’ marks culmination of Poshan Abhiyaan at Wokha

Longleng, September 30 (MExN): The month long celebration of Rashtriya Poshan Abhiyaan, Poshan Maah National Nutrition Mission culminated with a ‘Local Food Show’ on two categories complimentary feeding for children and balance diet, diet-diversity for all age group was conducted at Tiyi Hall, Wokha on September 30. 

A DIPR report stated that around 21 Self Help Groups from National State Rural Livelihood Mission (NSRLM) and National Urban Livelihood Mission (NULM) participate in the competition.

During the competition various nutritional food items were displayed by the SHGs and they explained the benefits of the food items to the officials. Prime Rose SHG (NSRLM), Woro Pangti SHG (NSRLM) and Nzanro SHG (LULM) were adjudged the first, second and third respectively. Cash award were also given to the winners which was handed over by EAC, Wokha, Imtinungula Longkumer. Cash incentives were also given to all the participating SHGs.

During the month long programme eight major activities were conducted and other programmes were conducted in collaboration with anganwadi workers.
