Dimapur, July 16 (MExN): As part of the Rashtriya Poshan Abhiyan (National Nutrition Mission) local food show (Over All Nutrition) with the theme ‘Anemia Prevention in Children, adolescent girls, women diet,’ IFA, Deworming organised by Department of Social Welfare in convergence with the SHGs under NRLM (RD) and Agriculture Department was held at New Chümoükedima Village on July 16.
Chairing the programme, Chubameren Supervisor of Social Welfare explained the importance of food for healthy living, balance diet, proper hygiene for children and pregnant women and mothers, stated a DIPR report.
Supervisor Ahule also briefed on the aims and purpose of Rashtriya Poshan Abhiyan on how the level of nutrition can be reduced and how people can avail the schemes and benefits for children and women. She appealed to all SHGs and women present to come together and make it a people's movement.
Aying from NRLM highlighted on safe drinking, awareness with live demonstration on importance of washing hands and healthy drinking and eating. She also stressed on the intensive awareness campaign which is aimed at insuring holistic development and adequate nutrition for children and mothers. She further appraised on the needs and consuming proper and healthy diet during infancy and childhood for better future of the society.
The next convergence activity will be held at Medziphema Town in August.
