Lockdown extended in Mizoram till Nov 9

The Mizoram government has extended the ongoing lockdown in the state till November 9.

The current lockdown was supposed to end on Tuesday. However it was extended, as the cases of COVID-19 continue to rise.

It may be noted that the Mizoram government had imposed a one week lockdown to check the spread of COVID-19 since October 27. The State is also observing ‘COVID-19 No Tolerance Fortnight’ across the state.

Meanwhile, four children are among the 35 fresh cases of COVID-19 detected in the past 24 hours in Mizoram. According to an official report, a 2 year old girl is among the fresh cases of COVID-19 in the state. It also said that 33 fresh cases are from Aizawl district, one case each from Saitual district and Champhai district. The report also said that 25 cases were detected during contact tracing while the remaining 10 cases of the disease are returnees.

Meanwhile, with the latest update on COVID-19 of Mizoram, the state’s tally of the disease has reached 2792 on Tuesday. Since 2347 cases were already discharged, there are 444 active cases of COVID-19 in the state.

Mizoram has reportedly tested 1,15,980 samples for COVID-19 till date.
