Long Cherished Memories against Background of Modernity

As I stood beneath the tree in a green park filled with children. Suddenly a glimpse of happy memories with mixed feeling ran through me; May be for the things long cherished, and others for the good things that is left unknown and forgotten. There was a time when I played marbles with friends; accompanied by them we ventured the trenches and meadows; nature was closed to us, and picnic were integral part of our gathering. I could not help but thinks of those memories. Parents and children were together most of the time. To lure a child to sleep, mother sang lullabies with child at their back. Community living in the form of sharing sweets and vegetables were at large. We never talk about God much, but we wander and believe that  there is a God behind every marvelous creation.

At present, the discovery of nature as a child grows up has being replaced by electronic gadgets. In bare minimum are they forced to learn about the nature through Environmental Studies in academic curriculum. The innocence of the childhood is now diluted with wrong longings of salacious imageries. Parental care is much being duplicated by artificial care and materialism. Religion is now dismissed as myth by atheist. Science which attempts to solve the mysteries has brought more destruction. With advent of modernity are we educating ourselves to imbecility? We need to pause, reflect and think. Sustained by our culture and tradition we need to embrace technology with the thought of eternity and accountability. Taking risks we need to inculcate that goodness back to the society again: the goodness of childhood, friendships and parental care. And God need to be reintroduce for the good of humanity otherwise we become man or woman devoid of moral conscience.
