Longleng DPDB monthly meeting held

• Laments low turn up for MR vaccination
• Pitiable condition of district hospital discussed
• Longleng to be made LED town very soon  

Longleng, October 6 (MExN): The Longleng District Planning & Development Board (DPDB) meeting was held under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner, John Tsulise Sangtam on October 6 at DC Office conference hall, Longleng.

Longleng DPRO stated in a report that while welcoming the members, the DC highlighted the ongoing MRVC in the district and urged the members to play an active role to sensitize the people in their respective community by clarifying the rumor being spread in the social media and the importance of the MR vaccine for the future of our children. Lamenting that very few students turn up for vaccination at Leinyak GPS, the DC directed the Education department to examine the case from the School authority and report the matter to him.  

Asserting that the district Hospital Longleng was in a pitiable condition without proper toilet facility, waste management, lack of water supply, etc. the DC appealed to all the government officers and departments to come forward to assist and contribute for proper management of the District Hospital till the proposed new building is completed. He also urged the hospital authority to complete the OT and delivery room at the earliest so that our people do not suffer. He pointed out that once the OT room is completed all minor operation can be done in the district hospital without referring the patients outside the district.  

Supplementing to the SDC Civil, D. Robin for purchase and use of LED light available at DC office at subsidy rate, the DC apprised the members that Longleng will be made LED town very soon. He said once the ordered LED light reaches, office notification will be served to all the shops to ban sales of Bulb and tube light other than LED in the market. He also informed that use of LED has reduced power interruption in the district in the recent months.  

SDO civil, D. Robin informed the members for use of LED light at home and in the office to save energy. He also urged the officers to encourage the villagers and their community to purchase and use LED light available at DC office at 90% subsidy rate. He also said that churches, NGOs and individuals can also purchase LED Street lights and fans at subsidy rate from the DC office.  

EAC Vitoka also apprised the members to submit the list of all government officers under respective department to ascertain the membership for Officers’ Club of Longleng. The Board recommended the proposal submitted by the Eastern Nagaland Women Organization for registration of their society. The Manager DIC (Industries) Longleng and DHO (Horti) presented their departmental activities. The DC directed the Supply Department and Yingli College to present their departmental activities in the next November DPDB meeting.
