Longleng extends institutional quarantine period to 21 days

Longleng, May 30 (MExN): The Longleng District Task force for COVID-19 has agreed to extend the period of institutional quarantine period from 14 days to 21 days.


The decision was taken during a meeting held on May 29 at DC conference hall, Longleng. 


The request for extension of quarantine period was given by the Phom People's Conference, Phomla Hoichem and Phom students Conference (PPC, PH and PSC). After completion of the institutional quarantine period, returnees will be sent to their respective village/homes for home quarantine and thereafter to be under surveillance as per the SOP for 7 days, a DPRO report stated.


All expenses for the additional 7 days institutional quarantine period will be borne by the civil society organizations.

 

CSOs to procure Truenat machine

Civil society organizations in the district led by the PPC offered to buy one Truenat Machine for testing of COVID-19 in the district. The offer was accepted and the house further decided that purchase of the machine will be made at the earliest. The cost for procurement of the machine, transportation of the machine, installation of the machine and all other aspect of expenditure will be borne by the civil society organizations and after installation, it will be handed to the Medical Department, the report added.


All villages and colonies who have erected gates are to ensure free movement of Government servants and other personnel on duty. The district administration will come up with a separate order in this regard, it added.


With regard to the security arrangement at the quarantine centres, the Senior Superintendent of police, Longleng has been assigned to work out the modalities to strengthen the same, according to the report.
