Longleng, January 21 (MExN): A convergence meeting of the District task Force, Longleng along with line departments and stakeholders was held at DC’s conference hall, Longleng on January 21.
It was stated in a DIPR report that the purpose of the meeting was to celebrate a weeklong National Girl Child Day 2019 in the district. The convergence meet also stressed to develop strategy to involved local people, Medias and DPRO for wider dissemination and coverage of activities carried out during the weeklong celebration of National Girl Child Day and for better dissemination of BBBP message and its importance to the local populace in the district. After a thorough discussion and deliberation the meeting decided to carry out the following activities with a close coordination with the Longleng town Students’ Union.
• January 22: Signature Campaign and Silent March on Beti Bachao Beti Padhao.
• January 23: Wall painting and Postal Campaign in important places of the Town, Awareness camp on various schemes and programmes of Women and Girl Child.
• January 24: Mini marathon for both Girl and Boy child with BBBP theme and Celebration of birth of girl child on January 24.
• January 25: Flash Mob (Surprise Street Performance of Dance and Songs), Celebration of National Voters day, Felicitation of Young Girl Voters etc.
• January 26: Culmination and Opening of BBBP stall on Republic day 2019.
All activities will be observed based on the theme Beti Bachao Beti Padhao (Save the Girl Child, Educate the Girl Child) Champions and winners will be felicitated. The winners of marathon race will be awarded with a cash prize of Rs. 5000/- for 1st, Rs. 3000/- for 2nd and Rs. 1500/- for third respectively.
