Longleng PHED imparts skill development training

Longleng, October 9 (MExN):  A community level skill development training programme under Jal Jeven Mission (JJM), support activity was organised by PHED Longleng Division at VCC & VDB conference hall Longleng on October 8. 

On the occasion, Trongdipa Tongpi Sangtam, SDO (Civil) Longleng, as special guest, acknowledged the Longleng PHED department for organising the training programme. Exhorting the participants, he said that skill development training is an opportunity to enhance skills and become self-reliant while contributing to the economy at large. He also said JJM is envisioned to provide safe and adequate drinking water to all households in rural areas and encouraged the trainees to be sincere and take up activities which will provide sustainable income, a DIPR report stated.

While delivering the keynote address, district chemist Sumachiba walling, stated that the training programme was organised with the aim to impart skills to the villagers for routine maintenance of drinking water distribution assets to ensure sustainability of water supply infrastructures.

It was followed by a practical session where the participants were imparted in the field of plumbing, fitting and masonry.
Certificates were also handed over to the participants by EE, PHED Longleng Er Nothongol Kera. Altogether 60 trainees from 15 villages attended the training programme.
