The Ao Students’ Conference (AKM) officials pose for the lens after addressing the press conference its office in Mokokchung on August 9.
Mokokchung, August 9 (MExN): The Ao Students’ Conference (AKM) expressed ‘deep concern’ at developments arising out of Assam’s border issue with other North East States including Nagaland.
In a press conference held today at its office in Mokokchung, the AKM officials stated that the Conference has been observing the border issue silently over years and opined that the issue has not been addressed sincerely by both the sides.
The officials further called upon that the Nagaland Government to look beyond the four walls of state politics and maintained that the Assam side “can be seen accusing Nagaland for encroachment on many occasions.”
They also strongly stated that it would not compromise an inch of land that belongs to the Ao Nagas and called upon the citizens of Ao territory to be “prepared in safeguarding our ancestral land,” a press release from the AKM informed.
“It is a known fact that AKM has its own reserve forest in the ancestral land of the Aos and not as per the views of the Assam Media,” it added.
