Tseminyu, August 31 (MExN): The Tseminyu Town Nagaland Consumers' Voluntary Organization (NCVO) has appealed the concerned authorities to look into the issue of ‘link’ failure at SBI Tseminyu Branch with urgency.
The issue has caused immense sufferings to its bank account holders, informed a press release from John Semy President, NVCO Tseminyu Unit.
People coming from remote villages after covering 20-30 Km without public transport on reaching the Branch often encounter that the link is down and the citizen are deprived of accessing to their saving accounts, it maintained.
Many from remote villages are compelled to stay at Tseminyu Town till the link is restored, it added.
As per the NVCO Unit, the issue has been noticed by the organisation for more than a month from now, however, the link flip-flops is still continuing till date.
The failure of link cannot be blamed to the SBI alone but the service providers within the district are equally responsible, it said, adding that the organisation has learnt that there is no backup for BSNL and the moment power supply fails, the link also goes down.
It is learnt that BSNL is providing leased line to SBI Tseminyu branch, the NCVO Tseminyu added.
Accordingly, it appealed both SBI and BSNL to improve the services to the citizen, adding: “If otherwise the consumers are also having certain rights in availing the Services.”
