Wokha, June 3 (MExN): The third edition of Lotha Catholic Hymn and Prayer Book was officially launched on May 24 at Don Bosco Youth Centre, Wokha by L Peter Humtsoe, Chairman, Lotha Catholic Literature Committee in the presence of all the Catechists from different villages and Lotha Catholic Union (LCU) officials.
According to a press release from M Samuel Ezung, LCU Literature Secretary, Peter exhorted the congregation to spread good news through hymns and prayers and also bring unity, peace and harmony among the community. He warned that in the name of secularism the very faith of a Christian church has been shaken and therefore as a laity “we can strengthen our faith through hymns and prayers.” He also thanked all the Lotha Catholic members for bringing out the 3rd edition of the book.
Andreas Ezung, president LCU, in his address expressed his appreciation and gratitude to the Literature Committee for initiating such a noble task and making the book a reality. He also spoke on the importance of hymns and prayers in one’s religious life. Rev. Fr. Rhanben Matthew, the Parish in-charge Longsa, blessed the launching programme and invocation was pronounced by Rev. Fr. Jossy, Asst. Parish Priest, Wokha.
