
Wokha, January 12 (MExN): The three-day Lotha Students’ Union (LSU) 52nd general conference commenced under the theme ‘People of the land must become the brand’ at Liphanyan village, Wokha on January 11.
A press release received here stated that K Renphamo Lotha, District Agriculture Officer, Mon graced the inaugural day as the special guest. Sharing on fulfilling purpose in life Renphamo said, “We are not sent here to starve or be a slave to others but we are sent here to identify ourselves and what purpose we need to fulfil and if we don't fulfil our purpose we become a liability in society.”
“Education is the bedrock of development,” he stated while encouraging the youths to be patient, set a goal and work hard to be successful. He also called to remain healthy and careful and stay away from intoxication stating that “health is wealth.”
The second day started off with inauguration of monolith stone and hoisting of Lotha Students’ Union Flag by Mhathung Yanthan, Advisor horticulture & Border Affairs as the special guest.
Speaking at the event, Yanthan encouraged the union to have social gatherings to discuss on the current issues expressing that formation of every union or an association is set through determination and challenges and leading a community in the general interest.
He advised the students to look at how other people see them, whether they are standing in the truth or are they wavering around and also to choose leaders who are able to fulfill their duties and responsibilities. Yanthan also advised the students to not let the student organisation be politicized.
In the afternoon session, Lichan Humtsoe, founder & CEO, Ete Coffee the theme speaker share his life experience speaking on the theme, “People of the land must become the brand”.
