The Naga People’s Front (NPF) president Dr. Shürhozelie Liezietsu on Friday expressed that the Naga people should give a serious thought how and why the NPF was given birth into the Naga soil and expect the Naga people to uphold its identity and principle.
Speaking during the Lok Sabha by-election campaign for C. Apok Jamir at Sechü Zubza council hall, Dr. Shürhozelie stated the Naga people should not be confused but to franchise their vote for the right candidate.
Expressing concern over how BJP is “attacking and harassing the minority particularly the Christian in the country,” Dr. Shürhozelie called upon the Naga people to carefully ponder upon whether we would like to invite such party to penetrate into our land.
The NPF President alleged that in order to grab the power of Chief Ministership, Rio has sold 20 constituencies to the BJP party, which the NPF in its 15 years alliance with the BJP have never share a single seat to the BJP.
MLA and former Minister, Yitachu reminded the Naga people that the forth coming by-election is not an ordinary one but a time for the Naga people to show and prove the distinct identity and culture that we Nagas inherit.
Further accusing the BJP, Yitachu lamented that for how long the Naga people will be fooled and carried with their false promises to the Naga people had called upon the Naga people to be united to secure for our better future.
MLA and ex- NLA speaker Chotisuh Sazo said that favouring PDA consensus candidate would only amount to strengthening the BJP and invite the aggressive colour toward Christianity and minority.
Also, MLA Keneizhakho Nakhro accused that the PDA Government is mastermind and played by the high command of BJP leaders so the Nagas must send a regional candidature Apok Jamir as the MP to represent the Naga people in the parliament. Meanwhile, the next leg of campaign will take place at Khuzama on May 19.
