
DIMAPUR, OCTOBER 29 (MExN): The Lazami Social Welfare Dimapur Area (LSWDA) has called for law enforcing agencies to book the culprits responsible for the death of one person and injury to another during when they were hit by a vehicle at 3rd Mile, NH 29, Dimapur on October 26.
A press release from Tovi Phuchi, General Secretary, Lazami Social Welfare Dimapur Area expressed shock that late Aboto Achumi was “hit to death on the spot” while one other person was critically injured by a speeding government registered vehicle. It stated that the vehicle bearing registration number NL-10-C-0749 is attached to an Additional Secretary, Department of Municipal Affairs, Government of Nagaland.
It further stated that the two accused were “in inebriated state wand were not authorized persons to use the government allocated vehicle which is serious offence and in contravention of Section 180 of the Motor Vehicles Act.” While extending condolences to the bereaved family, the organization urged the authorities to “deliver justice as early as possible.”
