Wokha, July 19 (MExN): The Lotha Youth Hoho teams on completion of their first year for the tenure 2019-2022 oragnized a programme to celebrate and address their works for the welfare of the Lotha community on July 18.
The programme was attended by Lotha Hoho, Lotha Elo Hoho, Lotha Students’ Union and Team Metamorphosis.
Yanbothung Ezung, President, Youth Hoho said that there are three challenges for the betterment and progress of the Lotha community. They include, according to Ezung, sense of responsibility, economic sustainability and social wellbeing. He called upon all sections to collectively come together as they have the same focus and vision for the uplift of Lotha society. He reaffirmed that the Lotha Youth Hoho will continue to serve the best for the same.
Er Mhondamo Ovung, Chairman, Lotha Hoho meanwhile called for inculcating change through oneself. He said that one needs to carry ones identity through cultural attires and give more importance to ones mother tongue.
He also spoke on self reliance and asked the community to develop work culture and dignity of labour. “If a man is called to be a street sweeper. He should sweep streets even as a Michelangelo painted, or Beethoven composed music or Shakespeare wrote poetry. He should sweep streets so well that all hosts of heaven and earth pause to say; here lives a great sweeper who did his job well," he added.
