‘Maintain Brotherhood Dist tag,’ urges Shamator outgoing DC 

Shamator, June 1 (MExN): ‘Through unity and cooperation, the newly created district Shamator can be developed,’ outgoing Deputy Commissioner, Shamator, Thsuvisie Phoji said on June 1. 

Addressing a farewell programme held in his honour at DBs Court (DC office Complex), he underscored that “brotherhood district” tag should be maintained in true spirit for peaceful co-existence among two brothers - the Yimkhiung and Tikhir communities, and for the upliftment of new district.

Phoji further pointed out that Shamator faced many challenges and struggles including conducting the general election, but highlighted that it was  conducted successfully through cooperation and teamwork. 

He also expressed his gratitude all the Head of Departments, Government Officials, Civil Society Orgiansations, and the citizen of Shamator for their cooperation during his tenure.

Extend the same cooperation to the incoming Deputy Commissioner, he urged, as per a DIPR report. 

Short speeches were delivered from YTC Vice President, Kiuji; Bodi Kapfo, SDO (C); PA to DC, Helumong; Hd DB, T Reluthong; President District GBs Federation; President Shamator Town Public Forum, among others.  A folk song was also presented by DBs DC office,

Earlier, the programme, chaired by EAC, Pauding Disuang, started with invocation by Rev Thsankiu, Pastor STBC and concluded with vote of thanks by Chenithung Ovung, EAC.
