Peren, February 7 (MExN): Major General Pradeep C Nair Yudh Seva Medal, Inspector General Assam Rifles (North) visited Sainik School Punglwa, on February 7.
The General Officer was accompanied by Brigadier Manish Kumar, Sector Commander, 6 Sector and Colonel NMS Thakur, CO 36 AR.
On arrival, the General Officer was given Guard of Honor by the Senior Division NCC cadets of the school. Lt Col MK Meitei, Officiating Principal briefed the Officer about the school and its activities.
The General Officer, an alumnus of Sainik School Satara, National Defence Academy and Indian Military Academy addressed the cadets and staff, expressing gratitude to be amongst the cadets and meet them. He shared his personal experiences and stated that cadets are fortunate to be in one of the premier Sainik Schools which aim to provide quality education.
The Officer added that Sainik Schools are places where an individual’s life unfolds. He emphasized on the sacrifices made by their parents to ensure better education to them and asked them to make their parents proud by doing good in life. He appreciated the efforts put in by the teachers towards academics and looking after the well being of the cadets round the clock.
In the interaction session that followed with the teachers, he said that teachers are gurus and they should mould and shape the cadets to bring out the best from them. The Officiating Principal presented a memento and school cap to the General Officer as a token of remembrance. In honor of him high tea was organized for the whole school by 36 Assam Rifles.
