Hyunilo Anilo Khing releasing the commemorative memento during the Old Medical Cricket Club Silver Jubilee celebration held at the Town Hall, Mangkolemba on January 21.

Mangkolemba, January 21 (MExN): The Old Medical Cricket Club (OMCC) celebrated its Silver Jubilee at the Town Hall, Mangkolemba, in the presence of guests, club members, and cricket enthusiasts on January 21. The event was graced by Hyunilo Anilo Khing, Honorary Secretary of the Nagaland Cricket Association as the chief guest.
Hyunilo Anilo Khing released a commemorative memento. In his speech, he acknowledged the transformative journey of Nagaland Cricket under the leadership of Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio, who led Nagaland to become a full member of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) in 2018. “This milestone marked the beginning of professional cricket in Nagaland and created opportunities for local players to participate in prestigious BCCI tournaments.”
A significant highlight of the day was the inauguration of the new Cricket Practice Pitch by Khing in memory of the founding members of OMCC. “This pitch, established under the aegis of the Nagaland Cricket Association, represents a significant step forward in advancing cricket infrastructure in the region.”
Earlier, the programme was led by Noksangnaro, Vice Principal of BHSS, invocation by Allemla Jamir, Associate Pastor of CEM, MTBA, welcome address by Moaliba, President of OMCC and special number performed by Temsunaro, Associate Pastor of Music, MTBA. In his exhortation, T Longri Longkumer, Advisor of OMCC, emphasised the importance of cricket as a unifying and inspiring force for the youth in the region.
The programme concluded with vote of thanks by L Samuel, Deputy Commandant, CRPF and benediction by B Yanger from Nokyu Ward, Mangkolemba.
