Imphal, October 8 (MExN): The first ever Manipur-Nagaland inter-college debate under the banner of ‘Voices of Brotherhood-A debating festival,’ organized by the Senapati District Debating Society and hosted by Don Bosco College, Maram will be held on October 20. The competition will witness students from the tops colleges to debate on the topic ‘Monopoly over the local market by the immigrants is waning away the entrepreneurial spirit of the local youths.’ Tongpang Ozukum, Minister PWD, Government of Nagaland and Leishangthem Susindro Meitei, MLA, 3rd Khurai A/C, Government of Manipur will grace the opening session of festival as Chief celebrant and guest of honour respectively. Representatives from the Naga Students Federation (NSF) and the All Manipur Students Union (AMSU) will be the presidium members. The organising committee has informed in a press release that the winner will get the prize money of repress one lakh along with winner’s trophy and citations. The competition will be judged by a panel of three eminent individuals drawn out from the states. Besides the debate competition, the festival will also feature a musical evening along with a special session dedicated to cultural exchange between the students representing the various colleges of the two states, they added. The festival is expected to draw in a crowd of around 4000 students, politicians, government officials and civil society leaders.
