Manipur reports 329 new COVID-19 cases; death toll rises to 2,041

Manipur reported 329 fresh cases of COVID-19 on Sunday, taking the state's infection tally to 1,32,910, while three deaths pushed the toll to 2,041, the Health department said.

One death each related to COVID-19 was reported in Imphal East, Imphal West and Bishnupur districts. Among the three deaths, two were vaccinated with the second dose of the COVID-19 vaccine while the rest with the first dose, the Health department said, in its latest bulletin.

The state’s test positivity rate of the day was 16.4%. As many as 2,002 tests were conducted on the day, taking the total number of tests done so far to 15,25,720.

A total of 284 patients were discharged during the day, which took the recovery count to 1,26,893. The recovery rate stood at 95.47%.

There are 3,976 active cases in the state at present.

Imphal West reported 146 cases and one death which took its infection tally to 47,203 and death toll to 684.

Imphal East reported 65 cases and one death. The number of cases in this district is now 29,479 and the fatality count is 490.

Thoubal reported 21 new cases, 18 in Churachandpur, 15 in Bishnupur, 11 in Kakching and 10 in Kangpokpi while other remaining districts reported below 10-mark with zero cases in Pherzawl district.

Meanwhile, with 11,187 people being vaccinated on Saturday, the cumulative number of doses of COVID-19 vaccine administered in the state so far rose to 24,91,826.

The total included 14,20,181 first doses, 10,44,845 second doses and 26,830 precautionary doses, the Health department said.
