Well ahead of the elections to the Manipur Legislative Assembly, Republican Party of India (Ambedkar) on Friday said that it has confirmed names of two candidates for two assembly constituencies to contest in the coming assembly poll of Manipur.
The elections to the 60-seat Manipur Legislative Assembly are likely to be conducted by the early part of next year, most probably by February-March. Even as political parties and intending candidates have started their electioneering, none of the political parties officially announced candidates to be fielded in the elections so far.
RPI(A) is the first political party that said that it has confirmed names of two candidates to contest in the upcoming elections.
While announcing this at a press conference held at Manipur Press Club, Imphal, the party’s national working president Gyanendra Kumar Singh said that names of candidates for Patsoi assembly constituency and Heirok assembly constituency have been confirmed.
He then said that the party will participate in the upcoming poll by fielding a maximum number of candidates.
Gyanendra then said that the RPI(A) will fight the elections with its main agenda of generating jobs considering the increasing unemployment in the country.
The party would like to bring a change in Manipur and to bring the change, he said, while adding that there is a need for solving the unemployment problems being faced by the youths of the state
RPI(A) is committed to solving the problems of unemployment with a new policy which will generate employment, he further said.
