The Manipur government’s COVID-19 Common Control Room on Sunday enquired if there is any returnee to Manipur after having had visited Guwahati Medical College and Dr B Borooah Cancer Institute, Guwahati in the last 21 days. If so, the Common Control Room for COVIS-19 in Manipur requested them to contact the control room immediately.

This step has been taken up as part of search for contacts of two individuals – a post graduate medical student of Guwahati Medical College and a relative of someone from the Dr B Borooah Cancer Institute, Guwahati – who tested positive for COVID-19 recently.

“Any person who visited these institutes in the last 21 days for medical or other reasons are requested to contact COVID-19 Common Control Room helpline number 1800-345-3818 without delay,” the control room of Manipur appealed.

The two medical institutes were among the hospitals in Assam where many people from the state used to visit for availing medical treatments.

Some students from the state also study at Guwahati Medical College.
