Seven more COVID-19 related deaths were reported in the last 24 hours in Manipur, pushing the state's total COVID-19 fatality number to 318, even as the overall number of people diagnosed with the viral disease stands at 26,534 on Wednesday.
The daily update report of the COVID-19 Common Control Room reported deaths of seven patients who were diagnosed with the virus over the last 24 hours (till 4pm of December 9).
Of the seven fatalities, one was a female. Of them, four were from Imphal West, two from Imphal East, and one from Bishnupur district.
The overall caseload of the state rose to 26,534 with the detection of 138 fresh cases including 16 Central Armed Police Force (CAPF) personnel were detected over the last 24 hours.
The fresh cases of the disease from the general population include 51 from Imphal West, 24 from Imphal East, 17 from Bishnupur, seven from Chandel, six from Thoubal, four each from Ukhrul and Tamenglong, two each from Kakching, Kangpokpi and Senapati, and one each from Tengnoupal, Noney and Churachandpur.
All of them were categorised as locally transmitted cases as they have no significant travel history in the recent time.
A total of 135 patients were discharged after they recovered from the disease, taking the overall recoveries to 23,301. The 2,915 active cases are being treated in various Covid care centres across the state.
The state's COVID-19 recovery rate stands at 87.81%.
