Marathon marks World Cancer Awareness Day cum Clean Election

Chümoukedima, February 4 (MExN): Department of Education, St Joseph University (SJU) in collaboration with District Election Office, Chümoukedima organised a marathon to mark the World Cancer Awareness Day cum Clean Election.

SJU in a press release stated that total of 250 students participated in the event. The race was flagged off by Rev Fr Anish, Public Relations Officer, SJU at 7th mile Junction Chümoukedima town. Rev Fr Anish called upon all to inspire others to be volunteers at the service of cancer affected persons. “Then only the theme of the day, ‘to close the care gap’ in the context of Cancer will be possible,” he stated. 

Rev Fr Anish also invited all the participants to rededicate to democratic values in order to assure the society of Clean Election.

The event concluded with prize distribution by Rev Fr Anish. The top finisher was Kaikho Boniface 4th semester Department of Commerce SJU; first runner up was Rukuvisal Jedediah Rhetso 2nd Semester, Department of Political Science and the third position was secured by Pekiye T Achumi 2nd Semester, Department of Political Science. The first ten winners were rewarded certificates.
