Dimapur, January 29 (MExN): The Ministry of MSME, Government of India, through the MSME Development and Facilitation Office (DFO), Dimapur, in association with the Department of Industries and Commerce and District Industries Centre (DIC), Dimapur, organised a one-day market awareness workshop under the PM Vishwakarma Scheme at the East Dimapur Town Council Hall, Purana Bazar, Dimapur on January 28.

General Manager, DIC Dimapur, Chikutho Nyusou delivered the commencement address and welcomed the artisans, encouraging them to actively engage in the series of technical sessions conducted by resource persons. Functional Manager, DIC Dimapur, Kiyelu T Yeptho briefed the participants on various schemes under the Ministry of MSME and the state government, urging artisans to seek guidance and support through the District Industries Centre.

An interactive session on branding, product design and marketing was conducted by Neingnethem Hengna, Founder and Director of Runway Nagaland, focusing on value addition and market linkage for traditional products. Financial literacy and the loan component under the PM Vishwakarma Scheme were explained by Rongsenyangla, Lead District Manager, State Bank of India.

This was followed by an interactive Q&A session involving artisans, officials from the District Industries Centre and the State Programme Management Unit, PM Vishwakarma, where queries related to training, toolkits and credit support under the scheme were addressed. A special helpdesk under the Raising and Accelerating MSME Performance (RAMP) scheme was also set up to facilitate credit-related queries for trained artisans.

The PM Vishwakarma Scheme is a Central Sector Scheme aimed at recognising and empowering traditional artisans and craftspeople engaged in 18 identified trades which are deeply rooted in India’s cultural and occupational heritage.
