A market shed implemented under NABARD’s Rural Haat Scheme was inaugurated at Yanpha Village on September 18.

Wokha, September 21 (MExN): A newly constructed market shed supported by NABARD was inaugurated by Tiakala Ao, General Manager/Officer-in-Charge, NABARD at Yanpha Village under Ralan Block in Wokha District on September 18.

The market shed was implemented by the Yanpha Village Council under NABARD’s Rural Haat Scheme. Meyazungba Jamir, SDO (Civil), Ralan Block, Limhathung Humtsoe, Chairman of the Village Council, other members of the Village Council and local villagers/beneficiaries of nearby villages were present on the occasion.

The GM, NABARD congratulated the Village Council and villagers for successfully constructing the market shed as per NABARD’s specifications. While urging them to use the facility effectively for the benefit of both the producers/farmers and the vendors/buyers, she appealed to the Market Shed Management Committee and beneficiaries to ensure that the Haat is managed efficiently to meet the very objectives of the scheme.

Meyazungba Jamir, SDO (Civil), Ralan Block thanked NABARD for the initiative which will benefit the local people and will directly service 30 nearby villages. The Chairman, Village Council of the area expressed his gratitude and appreciation on the initiative of NABARD which he said, will benefit the farmers and rural artisans of the area.
