
Dimapur, November 21 (DIPR): In a noble gesture the family members of the Anandi Devi Agarwala ( 87) years from Marwari community who passed away this morning has decided to donate her eye to the Eye Donation Centre set-up at the District Hospital Dimapur on November 21.
After the completion of all the legal cordial formalities, the eye specialist from District Hospital Eye Donation Centre Dr. Asonla Chang with her professional team members has collected the cornea in a very professional way in presence of Chief Medical officer (CMO) Dimapur and his colleague, family members and Rotary Club Dimapur.
Chief Medical Officer (CMO) Dimapur Dr. Sukato Sema said more than 50 volunteers from the district has registered and pledged to donate their eyes to help those in need. He appealed the public to come forward to registered to donate one’s eye after death and urged the blind people to come and registered to avail the opportunity for cornea transplantation.
Dr. Sukato also thanked the family members for the kind gesture and to the Rotary Club Dimapur for their initiative for voluntary donation to help somebody in need.
