Every resident of Mission Compound colony in Phek town has been provided with face masks as protective measure against COVID-19 pandemic.

The Mission Compound Colony Youth Association (MCCYA) made this possible by distributing masks on two occasions free of cost to its colony members, numbering 935. MCCYA distributed 350 homemade masks to all its colony citizens in its second phase distribution today.

In the first phase, the colony youth stitched the face masks and distributed them to the denizens. Earlier, MCCYA also distributed soaps free of cost to needy citizens and demonstrated hand washing methods to 186 households within the colony. MCCYA President, Seo Hoshi told The Morung Express that the association would impose fine against any denizen found without wearing mask.

Further, outsiders will not be allowed entry into the colony without wearing mask, Hoshi added.
