Mass tree plantation drive conducted

Dimapur, July 31 (MExN): In the run-up to the 17th Raising Day of the 173 Battalion CRPF, a mass tree plantation drive was organized in collaboration with NSS cell, Nagaland at BCS, CRPF, Chümoukedima on July 31. 

The Battalion has been undertaking the mega plantation drive with an aim to contribute to the ‘Green India’ mission of the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA).  Vishnu Gautam, Commandant, 173 Bn CRPF and Zeneikhoo Pfiikha, State NSS Officer, led the officers and jawans along with the university students in planting the saplings.

In his brief address, Vishnu Gautam, Commandant emphasized on the importance of caring for the environment and spoke about the importance of planting trees. He also thanked the NSS volunteers for their selfless service.

The National Service Scheme has also been undertaking tree plantation in various places to commemorate the 75 Years of India's Independence. 150 students from different colleges in Nagaland participated in the event. 2000 saplings were planted in the camp.
