NSCN-K (Niki)
Our forefathers with the fortitude and divine inspiration conducted on this day 16th of May, 1951 the Naga plebiscite. May 16 is a red-letter day for all Nagas and we, the present generation are blessed to inherit this glorious legacy.
It is also a declaration to the world that the Nagas were a sovereign and free people, and that they choose to remain as free people. The Naga Plebiscite of 1951 stands as a defining moment in the history of the Naga people — a peaceful and democratic expression of the collective political will of the Nagas. Every Naga must uphold and honour what was exercised in 1951 — in letter and spirit.
The mandate of Naga plebiscite of May 16, 1951 for independence and sovereignty of our distinct nation is sacrosanct and we, the present generation must translate words into actions. Everyone claims ownership of this golden legacy for self-aggrandizement but very few aspire to struggle towards our stated goals. It is our time to take actionable steps, so that the future generations can build on it.
The road ahead is long and winding, fraught with hardships and dangers and at times seems like a Herculean task; Impossible to achieve but remember God is with us, if only we bend to His Will.
High time for us to recommit and sincerely work towards realizing that goal.
NSCN/GPRN believes in unity and active participation which are the key ingredients to building a Naga nation for Christ.
