MOKOKCHUNG, OCTOBER 5 (MExN): The Mokokchung Chamber of Commerce and Industries (MCCI), while appreciating the ongoing cleanup of clogged drains in the town, particularly at Daily Market and along IM Road, urged the business owners located along the work sites as well as the public to bear with the minor inconveniences caused by the ongoing works. It further asked them to render cooperation to the authorities concerned as it is being carried out in the best interest of the town.
A press note from the MCCI stated that clearing process has been a long felt need for all the right reasons. “Authorities who are giving their best effort to clean the drains despite fund and resource constraints deserve appreciation from all right thinking citizens,” it stated, while particularly acknowledging the Mokokchung district administration, the Mokokchung Municipal Council, the PWD, UDO, SDRF etc.
It however observed that the purpose would have been better served had the authorities in collaboration, if need be, with the people represented by the mass based organizations garnered adequate funds from the government or other sources for the improvement and mitigation of drainage system in the town.
