The Mokokchung College of Teacher Education (MCTE) today bid farewell to its principal, Khrienilie Nagi at the college conference hall with staff and students expressing gratitude to him through various items.
Dr. Temsurenla, Vice-principal MCTE and L Tongzuk Sempo, Head Assistant, MCTE delivered short speeches on behalf of the teaching and non-teaching staffs while Imliwangshi, general secretary, MCTE Students’ Union spoke on behalf of the students.
Imliwangshi praised the principal and spoke of him as a considerate and understanding teacher who always encouraged and understood the problems of the students.
Meanwhile, Khrienilie Nagi acknowledged the Khensa Village Council, whose members were also present at the programme, for their support throughout. He congratulated the teachers and the students for their achievements and bringing good results since the inception of the college.
He also praised the institute for its self-discipline and stated there has not been a single disciplinary action taken towards the students since he took over as the principal. He further encouraged the teaching and non-teaching staffs to be regular in their duties.
He concluded his speech by urging them to be changed men and women and to be better teachers once they graduate from the college.
The students presented songs and memoirs of the outgoing principal and in the concluding note added they will fondly remember his quote “Difficult but possible.”
