The MDFA Trophy 2022 witnessed the fourth and the last quarter final match which was played between Telongjem FC and OCYU at Imkongmeren Sports Complex, Mokokchung. Telongjem FC trashed OCYU 6-0 to book the last berth in the MDFA Trophy 2022 semi finals.
The match was fully dominated by Telongjem FC. Kakhevi Assumi scored the first goal in the 25th minute with a perfectly timed volley inside the box and scored again three minutes later, securing a deal for the side. Suponglemba scored the third and fourth goal in the 33rd and 44th minutes. Sentilong went on to deliver the knockout blows for the team, scoring a brace in the 73rd and 80th minutes.
Telogjem FC will now face Mongsenbai FC in the second semi final match on October 24.
Earlier in the three-quarter final matches that were played, Longpa Lomuden FC beat Sports Society Soyim 1-0 to become the first team to advance to the semi finals. Moanungsang Memorial Sporting Club demolished Sparious FC 8-0 to advance to the semi-finals. They will play against Longpa Lomuden FC in the first semi final match on October 22.
Mongsenbai FC and Revenant FC faced off in the third quarterfinal, and the former team easily triumphed, benefitting on their strength and experience against the inexperienced underdogs. Mongsenbai successfully tormented the Revenant squad for the whole 90-minute match, leading to the team's 9-0 victory.
