Mokokchung, July 21 (MExN): The Mokokchung District Legal Services Authority (MDLSA) in collaboration with Mokokchung District Bar Association (MDBA) conducted a workshop for Dobashis, GBs and Village Council functionaries at ADC Conference Hall Mokokchung on July 20.
A total of 78 Dobashis, GBs and Village Council functionaries attended the workshop.
A press release issued by the MDLSA stated that the programme was chaired by PL Tajungla Longchar and the keynote address was delivered by W V Patton, CJM and Secretary of MDLSA. Topic on Lok Adalat and its mechanism, Money Lenders Act and Jurisdictional Authority and basic procedures of Law (Cr.Pc/C.Pc procedure provided under Rules of justice and Police) were discussed in detail with the participants by Advocate I Imkong Jamir Retainer Lawyer, Advocate L B Namo and Advocate Watitemjen respectively.
The speakers on the said topics stated all the working procedures and requirements of the Law of the said subject matters, the release stated.
The programme was followed by a fruitful discussion hour. Advocate I Mangko Jamir, President MDBA was the moderator of the session .The beneficiaries actively participated during the discussion hour stating their grievances and clearing their doubts in their working system in regards to the discussed topics. Booklet on Lok Adalat, Legal AID and Legal services, Consumer Act etc were distributed to the beneficiaries, it added.
