Mokokchung, July 26 (MExN): The Mokokchung District Taekwondo Association (MDTA) today felicitated the district Under-14 Taekwondo delegation that participated in the recent state level tournament held at Indria Gandhi Stadium, Kohima. 

The district team, comprising of ten players and two support team, participated where two players, namely Sentimmoa Ozukum and Temsumongla Longkumer (both from Ladybird School) bagged Bronze medal in different weight categories, Media cell MDTA stated in a press release.

The medallists were handed over the cash, medals and certificates. The other participants were given certificates. The MDTA also presented taekwondo uniforms to all the district participants. The prizes and certificates were formally handed over by MDTA President Supongwati Jamir. 

Meanwhile, the MDTA General Secretary, Nukshi I Ozukum, who chaired the programme, said that taekwondo is a very disciplined sport which has lot of scope for those who are dedicated and excel in the sport. He assured that the Association would go out all the way in promoting them in different tournaments and therefore encouraged them to give their best even in the days to come. 

MDTA Executive member, Bendang in his short speech, appreciated the association members, especially the Team Manager, the Coach and the participants for bringing laurels to the district. He said that the participants, despite the paucity of time in training, gave their best and brought good name to the district which would serve as inspiration and motivate others in the days to come. 

After the programme, the MDTA officials also visited the ongoing boxing camp at multipurpose Indoor stadium Mokokchung and interacted with the Boxing Association Mokokchung officials.
