Measures to streamline and detect ineligible and bogus ration cards

Dimapur, January 29 (MExN): In order to streamline and detect ineligible and bogus ration cards, the office of the Superintendent of Supplies, Assistant Director N. Jamonger Ao, as per provision of the PDS Control Order 2015 and NFSA 2013 has directed all the eligible beneficiaries possessing ration cards under the Priority Households to submit their original ration cards along with photocopies of Aadhaar to the office of the undersigned on or before March 2019.


It was stated that an acknowledgement slip for renewal will be issued from the office of the undersigned to the eligible ration card holders and only one acknowledgement slip will be issued per ration card. The Urban Fair Price Shops are to strictly issue only to the eligible ration card holders in possession of the acknowledgement slip duly signed by the competent authority.


Meanwhile, the colonies chairman/councils/GBs/NGOs are also requested to monitor for effective detection of ineligible and bogus cards in their respective colonies. “This press release has been issued in compliance with Government issued provisions and in order to streamline the Public Distribution System and to ensure that the ration cards are being issued to eligible and genuine beneficiaries under the National Food Security Act 2013,” the Assistant Director added.
