Kohima, December 1 (MExN): A special Media Kit was unveiled by Advisor for Information & Public Relations and Soil & Water Conservation, Imkong L Imchen, to commemorate 25 years of the Hornbill Festival. The launch event took place at the Media Facilitation Centre in Kisama, Kohima.

The commemorative kit, curated by the Department of Information & Public Relations (DIPR), highlights Nagaland’s cultural and natural richness through contributions from various state departments. The eco-friendly tote bag and stationery were provided by DIPR, while the Department of Agriculture contributed sticky foxtail millet packets. An assortment of Myki products, including gooseberries, pineapples, popped rice, and spices, was added by the Department of Women Resource Development. Other contributors included the Nagaland Bee Keeping & Honey Mission with stingless honey, the Department of Industries & Commerce with handcrafted keychains and pen stands, and the Department of Sericulture with Eri Cocoon brooches. The Department of Health & Family Welfare supplied first aid kits, and customised notepads were provided by the Department of Printing & Stationery. Fingerprint Nagaland, the festival’s official print partner, also contributed a commemorative brooch.

Known as the “Festival of Festivals,” the Hornbill Festival, inaugurated in 2000, has grown into an internationally renowned event showcasing the traditions of Nagaland’s 17 tribes through music, dance, crafts, and cuisine. This year’s silver jubilee edition includes an expanded lineup of cultural performances, exhibitions, and sports events, drawing visitors from across the globe.

The Media Kit is expected to enhance global media outreach, spotlighting the Hornbill Festival on the world cultural stage.
