Medical assistance provided to 19 passengers since June: RPF-NFR

MALIGAON, JULY 21 (MExN): The Railway Protection Force (RPF) of Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) provided medical assistance to 19 passengers across its railway network during June and July 2026.

A total of 12 passengers received medical assistance during June, while seven more were assisted in July till date.

Citing a recent case, the NFR informed in a press release that the RPF personnel at New Jalpaiguri Railway Station provided medical assistance to an ailing woman travelling on Train No. 15607, Thiruvananthapuram Central-Silchar Aronai Express, on July 17.

She was shifted by ambulance to the Railway Hospital at New Jalpaiguri and subsequently referred to a higher medical facility for specialised treatment.

On the same day, RPF personnel at New Jalpaiguri also assisted another passenger travelling on Train No. 13174, Sabroom-Sealdah Kanchanjungha Express. The passenger was shifted to the Railway Hospital for further treatment.

The NFR stated that the RPF coordinates with railway medical authorities and other departments to provide medical assistance to passengers during emergencies.
