Medoyoto and Ngopisa win indigenous go-carting competition

Kohima, December 5 (DIPR): Medoyoto and Ngopisa Kotso from Kidima village clinched the Indigenous Go Cart Racing on December 5 organized by Go Travels, Kohima as part of the ongoing Hornbill Festival 2017.  

The event was flagged off by Thejakielie Zuyie near NSF Martyrs' Park in the presence of well-wishers and a host of spectators and culminated at Phoolbari, near Ao Church, Kohima.  

The event is being organized every year as part and parcel of the Hornbill Festival in order to promote and propagate the indigenous games, said the organisers.  

The 2nd and 3rd positions were bagged by Kedo and Kelezo & Khriedi Mejura and Neilhouvoto Chuse all from Phesama village.  

Altogether, 40 teams from neighbouring villages vied for the competition. The 1st and 2nd positions were awarded two cycles each with gear and the 3rd position winner was awarded two cycles without gear. All the participating teams were awarded citations.
