DIMAPUR, MARCH 9 (MExN): A day long training programme was organized by the Sumi Baptist Church, Medziphema town by the Women’s department on March 8 to celebrate the International Women’s Day. A press note stated that the resource person’s were Vitoni Kinny and Hokali Swu, both from the Sumi Baptist Church, Kohima town.
The training programme focused on food processing and preservation based on preparing item’s such as “grilled fish, meatballs, toasted vegetables, pancakes, pork sausages, nut pies etc. The programme also imparted training on making handbags and cutting garments.
A talk under the theme “Women’s rights” was delivered by Viheli, a women’s leader. She encouraged and insisted that the womenfolk know their rights at home and in society. The programme was assisted by young men, board of deacons and officers of the church.
