Nagaland today registered a massive turnout in the mega Parents-Teachers Meeting (PTM), organised by Samagra Shiksha Nagaland across the state.

PTM was organised for the government schools having foundational stage as part of the Nagaland Literacy & Numeracy Fest 2.0 3rd Cycle.

A total number of 27,713 parents, 5,443 School Management Committee members, 10,411 Teachers and 53,359 students from 1355 Government schools participated in this mega PTM.

The mega PTM was marked by various activities such as singing, display of learning activities, teaching learning materials, games for parents and students, performance display be students, sharing of feedbacks from parents and teachers.

During 2024-25 academic session, Samagra Shiksha/School Education is conducting Nagaland Literacy & Numeracy Fest (NLNF) 2.0, a Micro School Improvement initiative in collaboration with ShikshaLokam, Bangalore on DIKSHA Platform as State Vidya Amrit Mahotsav initiatives to strengthen holistic education in the Foundational Stage.

The NLNF 2024 is being conducted in 4 (four) cycles.

Mega PTM objectives
Mega PTM aims to foster a strong bond between parents and educators, leading to increased trust and cooperation, encourage open dialogue and share responsibility for the child's education, promotes the child's social and emotional well-being through a supportive home-school environment.

It also aim to boost the child's motivation to learn and enhances their self-esteem, improve the child's academic performance by providing a consistent and reinforcing learning experiences, contributes to higher attendance rates, leading to better learning outcomes, strengthen communication skills within the school community, fostering a positive and conducive atmosphere.

Further, it aims to create a learning environment that engages, inspires and empowers students, provide opportunities for students to showcase their creativity and talents in the presence of parents, engage parents in fun activities with their children to foster a conducive learning environment and strengthen the parent-school partnership through open communication and collaboration.

Marking the mega PTM event in the state, Nagaland’s Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio and school education & SCERT Advisor Dr Kekhrielhoulie Yhome delivered messages through social media platform for parental engagement in children’s education.

PTM at GMS Daklane
In a programme held at Government Middle School Daklane, Kohima, Samagra Shiksha deputy mission director Kelhikha Kenye expressed happiness over the congenial atmosphere between the parents-teachers there.

He called upon the parents and teachers to maintain the same spirit to ensure a child's holistic development.

The programme at GMS Daklane was marked by music, dances, choreography, skit, paper bag and basket making, poem recitation etc.

The programme was chaired by Kesangunuo while Angou Koza delivered short speech. Vote of thanks was proposed by Khrietuonyü Noudi.
