Meghalaya records highest single-day recovery of 283 patients

After the demise of an elderly woman caused by COVID-19 on Tuesday in Meghalaya, the death toll is now at 102 while the state recorded the highest single-day recoveries of 283 patients from the virus.  

Of the new recovery, 172 patients are from Ri Bhoi, 64 from East Khasi Hills, 15 from South Garo Hills, 14 from West Jaintia Hills, 8 from South West Garo Hills, 4 from West Garo Hills, 3 from East Jaintia Hills, 2 from East Garo Hills and 1 from West Khasi Hills.

 The state has also detected 85 new cases on Tuesday and they include said 46 in East Khasi Hills, 18 in West Garo Hills, 14 in South West Garo Hills, 2 cases each in East Garo Hills, Ri Bhoi and South Garo Hills and 1 in East Jaintia Hills.

Those who tested positive for the disease are 7 armed and paramilitary forces (6 from East Khasi Hills and 1 from South West Garo Hills) and police personnel from South Garo Hills.

A total of 10,791 COVID-19 have been detected in Meghalaya out of which 734 are active cases, with 9,955 recoveries and 102 deaths.

Of the total active cases, East Khasi Hills has 273 positive cases, Ri Bhoi with 111, West Garo Hills 107, East Garo Hills 91, West Jaintia Hills 32, East Jaintia Hills 26, South Garo Hills 21, West Khasi Hills 29, South West Garo Hills 31, North Garo Hills 12 and South West Khasi Hills 1.

 “Till date, swab samples of 2, 23,084 persons have been tested of which 2, 12,293 were found negative,” said Dr. War.
There are 59,626 entrants from outside the state.
