
Dimapur, January 3: A memorandum by the Rengma Hoho, Rengma Mothers Association, Rengma GB Association and Rengma Students Union has been sent to the Governor requesting the Governor and the Government of Nagaland to appeal to the Assam Government to immediately ensure justice and “expeditiously enact the proposed communal violence (prevention, control, and rehabilitation of victims bill 2005).” It urged the Assam Government to discharge its responsibility to investigate all atrocities and provide compensation without delay. The memorandum further requested for permanent police beat post to be set up at Lolashunyun/Tsuguchonri villages and Phencharo/Nkhenlari and also to provide basic amenities such as roads, sanitation to the internally displaced families and guarantee the Rengma Naga inhabited areas with their basic right to education, health services.
