Message of forgiveness resounds at Ngada Mini Hornbill Festival 2022

The Rengma Nagas celebrated its premier festival Ngada through the platform of Ngada Mini Hornbill Festival 2022 at the picturesque Tesophenyu New under Tseminyu District on November 28.

Gracing the occasion as the special guest, Tenyimi Peoples’ Organization (TPO) President, Timikha Koza said that the Naga forefathers used to celebrate every festival with dignity and labour and wondered ‘if the present generation is upholding the tradition and values of the forefathers.’ Koza feared that unless the present generation develops the forefather values of forgiveness and unity, Naga society will see division further.

He went on to state that Nagas have very rich tradition and culture and everyone must make an effort to preserve it because any nation which forgets its tradition ceases to be recognized.

He stressed on the need to develop a positive attitude and strengthen bond of brotherhood and oneness among the Nagas by helping and supporting one another in any calling situations.

He called for maintaining the spirit of oneness among the Nagas and work in unison to achieve the common cause of the Nagas.

He lauded Rengma community towards the Naga cause.

R. Khing, advisor animal husbandry and veterinary services and women resources development, Nagaland, stressed on the need to amplify the reconciliation process in the Naga society.

He also stressed on the need to live upto the spirit of forgive and forget in the name of Ngada for any misgivings in the past.

Stating that Ngada is a time to renew friendship, he called upon the people to uphold the principle of unity and peace, which is requisite for all round development.

Tseminyu deputy commissioner Dr. Zasekuolie Chusi also shared greetings.

Earlier, the programme was chaired by Yhunchilo Khing while welcome address was delivered by Rengma Hoho president Pollem Tep.

The festival was marked by cultural performance. Rev Haiwalo Apon, executive secretary CRBC Zunpha invoked God’s blessing. Vote of thanks was proposed by Rengma Hoho Officers Forum general secretary Shilloh Kath.
