The 75th anniversary celebration of the Mezoma Students’ Union (MSU) concluded at Phehinu, Mezoma on January 11 with Nagaland Women Resource Development & Horticulture Minister Salhoutuonuo Kruse as the special guest.
MSU was formed in 1950 with Thepfürovi Kithsü and Khrienyühu Krose as the first president and first secretary respectively.
Marking the 75 glorious years of the MSU journey, the Minister formally inaugurated MSU Watch Tower and also released the MSU 75th Anniversary souvenir.
In her address, Kruse congratulated MSU for attaining its 75 glorious years. She commended the pioneers and the present leaders of MSU for exercising the feeling of oneness and its contributions towards social well being. She challenged the students to strive for excellence, emphasizing that with unity and God’s guidance, they can achieve greater success. She also encouraged them to move forward with determination and prayer, reminding that faith and hard work will fetch a successful life.
She told the students that their parents offer the highest amount of energy, time and wealth to nurture their children, and even to the extent of sacrificing their own needs and comforts. In this, Kruse called upon the students to value their parents’ love, care and sacrifices and give their best effort to become a worthy citizen.
Further, she called upon the gathering uphold the principles of unity and resilience and remain strong for a brighter future.

David Mere shared greetings and extended best wishes to the MSU for attaining 75 years. MSU President, Silievi Kehie delivered presidential address.
The programme was chaired by Kedoroko Casavi, Convenor, Central Organising Committee while Ruulhoukho Khawakhrie, Catechist, Mary Help of Christians Church, Mezoma invoked God’s blessings.
The celebration also witnessed special songs from Kevino Krose, Mezoma Youth Organization and Mezo-
Medziphe. Kohima Municipal Council (KMC) Deputy Chairperson, Khrielievi Chiisi and several other dignitaries also present at the celebration.
Earlier, Vidozhaliye Chiisi, Secretary Central Organising Committee led the dedication service of MSU Watch Tower while Azha Kehie, Pastor Mezo-Basa Baptist Church pronounced dedicatory prayer. The MSU watch tower was sponsored by Er. Petehetuo Miasalhou.
The two-day long celebration culminated with vote of thanks, proposed by Vimekhrielie Krose, Treasurer, Central Organising Committee.
