KOHIMA, JUNE 16 (MExN): Modern Higher Secondary School (High School Section) organized a one day ‘Faculty Development Program’ for the high school teachers at the school conference hall on the topic “Leadership and wellness in the teaching and learning process” on June 15. 

The resource persons for the program include Dr Kate Dandesh Kumar (Associate Professor cum Principal, MITE, Kohima), Dr Rajesh Babu Pammi (Associate Professor, MITE) and Emilo Kikon (Associate Professor, MITE).

The topics of discussion began with reflective questions which put forth on the teachers on how and in what ways one can foster leadership in teaching profession. 

The second topic of discussion was on the importance of teacher leadership, on how to become an effective teacher or an effective leader in the Teaching-Learning process.

The final topic of discussion was on the wellness in teaching and learning which could be incorporated in a holistic approach i.e. the involvement of both the educators as well as the learners in achieving the goal of effective teaching-learning process, a press release stated. 

There was also an open discussion regarding the challenges and grievances faced both in the formal classroom teaching as well as in an informal system of learning. Earlier, the program was chaired by Sanano Chanu, (Preparatory Teacher) while Naomi Kath (Preparatory Teacher) pronounced the invocation prayer. The program concluded with a vote of thanks by Nourhiekhrielie Noel (Preparatory Teacher).
